Put Here To Produce! A Chat With Producer Richie Raye
Lady Marauder: What's new Richie?
Richie Raye: Got the "Wata Talk Radio" Mixtape on the way, and working on some projects in the studio for some local acts.
Lady Marauder: So...What was *Veron's 1st job? (*his real name)
Richie Raye: OH NO! That's funny! Wendy's Old Fashion Hamburgers
Lady Marauder: What was Richie Raye's 1st job?
Richie Raye: Titanium Records on Tobacco Road in Augusta. Then, I was known as "Poa Boi"
Lady Marauder: Worst artist-producer moment was when....
Richie Raye: We did a show in Louisville Georgia with my artist and there was some Augusta-Louisville beef going on..so the DJ held us for ransom! We were more than happy to get out of there.
Lady Marauder: Best artist-producer moment was when...
Richie Raye: I got a call from Khujo Goodie from the Goodie Mob. I submitted some music to him and he like it. He called me up and asked to purchase a track from me. Plus winning the beat battle, it really feels good when your peers dig your music.
Lady Marauder: Does Richie Raye have Big City Dreams or is Country Living fine for you?
Richie Raye: Love the city, but if I have the chance I want to open up a school of music for kids here at home. I want kids to have an opportunity express themselves through the music, you know have an outlet and a place to go to be creative.
Lady Marauder: Got a talent or hobby folks don't know about?
Richie Raye: Drawing. I'm pretty good with the hands.

Reinventing Deanna Brown-The GodDaughter of Soul!
It's always great to talk to Deanna but I was a little nervous about interviewing her. She's endured so much these past 4 years. Deanna, one of the daughters to icon James Brown The Godfather of Soul is a mother, wife and entrepreneur. She lives by the motto: Love God-Family, Live Right and Don't Give Up Fight. Through it all she is resilient and making it her mission to not to sell her Soul!
Lady Marauder-Where ya been girl?!?
Deanna-Girl don't let me bore with my stories..where do I start? Me and my husband (Shaun Thomas) have opened up our 2nd restaurant. It's a new 2-GO spot on Telfair in downtown Augusta called Old Towne Food Court. We specialize in seafood, subs and more.
Lady Marauder-It's almost time for the Annual Turkey and Toy Giveaway. What are the details on that?
Deanna-The James Brown Family Foundation Turkey Giveaway will be Monday November 22nd at Dyess Park on James Brown Blvd. The Toy Giveaway will be Monday December 20th at the James Brown Arena on 7th Street.
Lady Marauder-Before your father's death you were on the radio here in the city. Miss it at all?
Deanna-I do miss it at times, but it was so hard to juggle that among other things after dad's passing. The changes that were happening at the station weren't aligned with the direction our family was going.
Lady Marauder-Your fathers shoes would be hard to fit, so what's Deanna gonna do?
Deanna-Continue to keep the faith and keep my father's legacy alive. My dad loved Augusta and the city loved him, but I can't be selfish and forget about the people around the world who he made a deep impact on. We've started charity and scholarship programs in other cities and states. Music and art programs meant a lot to my father and many were being cut and losing funds prior to his death, so it's our mission to keep kids active in pursuing their dreams within the music industry. We are working closely the Grammy program is Los Angeles, TADA!/Youth Theater New York and NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) to help children in our programs get instruments and the proper tools to succeed in their musical endeavours.
Lady Marauder-Any other new projects in the work?
Deanna-Ohhhhhh, I wanna tell you! Girl, I gotta keep it under wraps right now though, but you will be the 1st to know. I will tell you this though, God is guiding me on this next project. Girl, I'm in constant prayer and I'm so ready! My father always told me to know my worth in this world and what he built for my family was a legacy. He made it his mission to do what he loved and that was to give, whether it was music, time or money. He touched so many lives..I plan on doing the same.
